Your music stays yours.
Last updated October 2026
Sterio is a music player for your own library. It doesn't have accounts, ads or tracking, and it doesn't send your library, listening history or settings to me or to anyone else.
What stays on your devices
- Server addresses and the credentials you enter for Jellyfin, Plex, Navidrome, SMB or other sources, kept in the system keychain.
- Your settings, equalizer presets, downloads and a local diagnostics log.
What stays on your server
Sterio Server keeps your library index, artwork cache, playlists, favourites, listener profiles and play history on the machine it runs on. It talks only to the Sterio apps on your network.
What goes elsewhere
- Your music sources, which you choose and control.
- Radio Paradise, only when you play its streams.
- Apple, through TestFlight: crash reports and feedback you choose to send, under Apple's own privacy policy.
The diagnostics log is shared only if you export it and send it yourself.
